Y for...

... YELLOW YULE! I was trying to find some inspiration for this week's Alphabet Challenge Blog letter of Y - came up with the obvious, yellow, and then I thought of Yule. So I thought it would be interesting to try and make a Christmas card in shades of yellow - not the most traditional of seasonal colours! But I was quite pleased with the result.

X for...

XMAS. Sorry, I couldn't come up with anything more original for X in the Alphabet Challenge Blog! This card is called a 'Joy Fold' - it's really 2 cards in one, with a smaller card added to the base card but with the fold on the right hand side. The background papers are by Crafty Individuals and the stamp is by Paperbag Studios.

V for...

... Vintage. I couldn't think of anything else starting with a v (except for Valentine) and I love vintage images - so here is a skinny for my entry this week on the Alphabet Challenge Blog .

The only problem is that because the paper rose embellishment is quite bulky, the scan has ended up with a strange curve on the right hand side.! The real thing is straight - honestly!

... Seeing within. I wanted to use some more of my new Paperbag Studio stamps, so made this card with them and decided it would be OK for this week's challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog. No matter how hard I try, and even using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I always seem to get lines of wording wonky!! I think I'll have to stamp them on a separate piece of card in future.

Red Roses. I'm a little early I know, but this is a simple little card for the next challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog on Friday. The main image is another stamp by Tanda.

Q for...

... QUIET! The Alphabet Challenge Blog has reached Q - doesn't seem like more than a week or two since it started. I've used one of my old favourite stamps by Paperbag Studios for this card, and the background panel was created using gesso and various inks. The acetate flower was cut using a Cuttlebug die and I had run the acetate through an embossing folder first.

M and N for...

... Moos, Men and Numbers! Sadly the Make a Moo or Two Challenge has finished for the moment, so I have decided to try and do all the challenges I missed over the year and a half. Here are a couple I have just made on the themes of vintage and numbers - but they also fit in well for the current and next week's challenges on the Alphabet Challenge Blog.

J for...

... Journal. Well it is week ten on the Alphabet Challenge Blog and therefore the letter J. I bought this inexpensive spiral bound note book a while ago with thoughts of altering it - so decided it would be ideal for this project. My background was created using a variety of Distress Inks and a quick spritz of Glimmer Mist. I've used various stamps, but the main focal image stamped in black is by Tin Can Mail, and I used Grungeboard letters to spell out Journal.

Alphabet Challenge: E

It's week 5 on the Alphabet Challenge Blog blog, so it's E, and on my card it's E for elephants. The background panel is a piece of textured wallpaper which I painted with watercolours, and then smeared a little glitter glue over. The elephant stamps are by Wood Ware.

D for Distress

My entry for this week's challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog - D. I've tried to distress this skinny in as many ways as I could and, except for one stamp, all the other stamps and materials are by Tim Holtz of course!
